Strangers are Just Friends Waiting to Happen....

I often wonder what would life be if I hadn't met people I have met so far in my life and people who have become ,are or were at some point of time a part of me... my existence. What if I had gone to some other school,college.... who all would I have come across..who all would I have in my cherished memories . How far we travel in life is far less important than those who we meet along the way in our journey of life. I firmly believe that in my journey of life , whatever I have attained so far is partially because of me and mainly because of the people I have met. Even though I have a strong will power and am not much influenced by others, and have a mind of my own which is the master of all my thoughts and actions , being human I do ponder on what people around me are doing ,talking and thinking... and knowingly or unknowingly the decision making process is inclined towards whats happening around rather than what should happen .

In our life, we meet people. Some we never think about again. Some, we wonder what happened to them. There are some that we wonder if they ever think about us. And then there are some you wish you never had to think about again. There are some we are yet to meet, among those some would turn out to be great people and force us to think why dint we meet them before why did it take so long..?? Strangers are friends we are yet to meet... but what about strangers we never ever meet in our life? I wonder how would it be.. had life been more beautiful had I known some more people I have not had a chance to talk to? Life is generous enough to give us ample opportunities to explore the world around us and come in contact wit a lot of people but its just too short to know everyone out there. Life is too short to go back and take different turns just to find out which would have been better..where would that have lead to. the only option we are left with is to "Move On" with the choices we ever made thinking it was and probably it surely was the right choice.

With right choice comes making right choice for every small thing we do... from selecting toothpaste from umpteen number of brands to making friends and finally making a right choice in finding our soul mates. According to me, the basis of life is chemistry...ahh! no doubt its COMPLEX! We are attracted to some, we are repulsive for some and we are neutral for some. Some people are registered in our minds forever... no matter we talk to them or not, see them often or not . People leave an impression not only on our minds but also on our hearts. But then these are people we have given rights to venture into our very own heart, let them hold a place there , but what I wonder is what about those whom we were repulsive or neutral to? Were they not good enough ? Is what I ask myself. We all start liking someone only when we talk to them, get to know them better and spend some time with them..someone appearing an arrogant snob in the first meeting may turn out to be a completely different person with a pleasant persona after having known them .There is always a face behind a person and this face behind the face is dominated by some characteristics revealing the real character of a person, with real character I mean the way the person is and not the way the person should be , they may be childish, brave, emotional, sensitive or stone hearted, but we do not get a chance to pull off the veil from everybody's face . Destiny plays an important part here.... with millions of people in the world we meet only to the ones we are destined to meet and find a great deal of happiness in their company. ... may be we would have been happier had we had some other people in our life ,less miseries ..less stress or may be life would have been miserable with more miseries.

Of friends who once were strangers to me
I ponder how my life’s become the way it has
The way it has not... and all that jazz!
Things happen for a reason or may be not
I cannot question why, how or what
So let it be, whatever it may be
I’m just blessed I chanced upon thee
In ways known, unknown I found
Friends who were not but yet around
Sprinkled softly with a luck so fine
Paths did cross, yes! yours and mine
A friendship so cherished began to sail
Making a difference to my lonesome tale
Fortune smiled, and so did I
For all of tomorrows as life goes by… (Courtesy : Google # Random Read)

With all these thoughts in my mind, I believe what we are offered is probably not the best that we could have got from life , but it definitely is what we deserve. I feel to be blessed with some wonderful people in my life who have had a positive influence in my life..but who knows may be I would have been luckier to have known a few more "Strangers".

Life : A Roller Coaster!!

I have always heard about how life changes after college but trust me guys listening to stories and actually experiencing it makes a hell lot of difference. Life has taken a 180 degree turn from what it use to be.... funfilled.. carefree.. in my own comfort zone, being just 17 kms from my home sweet home. When going home was just a thought away. But now everything seem to be changed. I have actually come out of my cocoon .. out of my comfort zone .. finally stepping into an entirely new environment with all new people around, new place and altogether a new journey to attain the ultimate goal,to achieve what I have always dreamt off. Nothing comes without a price... and this is something for which I have to pay heavily and the worst part is I cant even bargain.

Earlier going back home from college a 1 hr journey posed to be a tiring task and here I am dying to get back home even though it takes a minimum of 10-12 hours and almost 1000 times the fare.Every weekend I would be home and treated like a princess just because I came home from hostel after 5 long days of the week. Now I get back home after working for the entire day with the best possible professional behaviour.. to go back home where I am no more a princess. Where I have to take care of myself, my home, my belongings and yeah.. how can I forget the bonus : rent + electricity bill + cooking gas . Oh my god!!! People are actually right when they say that life isn't a bed of roses. In short life is not easy.

Life is not easy but its not that difficult too.Though it comes with hardships, it always has a lesson to learn from it. It teaches a lot of things and enriches our experience. We learn to tackle people, with people I mean difficult people....tackle different and difficult situations single handed. It prepares you perfectly so that you are ready for the bad bad world we all live in . It gives us the secret to happy living in this world which is so very different from our dream world and why wouldn't it be so after all its reality not a mere dream . In the present scenario, staying at home with family and friends all around seems as if I have received an award. I have to wait for weekends to meet the best of my friends, wherein back home I would meet them any day anytime. Chuck meeting .... even calling needs a thought if this is the right time.. what if the person is busy.. what if the person is having a good sleep after many tiring days of work. This is how life changes. This how it shows us different colors and faces it has... because days never remain the same. It changes... and changes are inevitable.

I am myself surprised how have I personally changed....... from a student to an employee... from an easy getter to getting self help for the smallest to the biggest of the things. Its amazingly unbelievable how I am able to manage all that is going around me.. office...home.. friends.. colleagues.. boss.. tasks.. deadline... and to top it all my ever lasting desire of slimming down... which I wish happens sometime soon. I believe I am changing for the good and will turn out to be a much stronger , calm and stable person than I have been in past. Its not that I am not liking this new phase of life. Like all phases, it has its own pros n cons and like everytime it has lots to offer. Its how we benefit from the offer. How enthusiastic and interested are we and how we humbly and gracefully take what comes to us. In spite of the difficulties and pain, I truly love my independent life.... love shopping for me and my near and dear ones, after all "Paisa bolta hai doston ". ;) I am proud of the little money I have and have a sense of gratitude to each individual who has been a part of my life and contributed in their own way to make my Life as it is and I like it the way it is.No matter how much I complain n nag..... I cherish every moment of my life!

Where is the reverse gear????????

With each passing day, with batch photo session already done, with not more than a week of classes left, with the last sessionals going on, with the last end sem approaching, with the custom messages changing from "enjoying life" to "just 30 days to go" each one of these bidding me farewell and reminding me that the countdown has begun... 31,30,29..... and the day isn't far when it will be zero. And with all these I too am struck with the most common syndrome called
"Nostalgia", which seem to be in the air these days.

College , friends, hostel, exams, lab, assignment, project, college fests, placements, treats, the room kitchen parties, birthdays, and the list is endless.... Oh how can I skip mentioning my extra special department(read CSE, BIT Mesra) which has the highest level of uncertainty... uncertainty of classes , uncertainty of exams, uncertainty of syllabus, uncertainty of question paper, uncertainty of marks, and uncertainty of all possible kinds a department can have...and with these uncertainties, I am finally going to land in TCS which says- " Experience Certainty" .....dunno how will that feel. Lots of random thoughts have flooded my mind and now I realise, there have been a hell lot of things happening around me in the last 4 years.

Time has flown really fast, flapping its wings hard and vigorously. It seems it was only yesterday I had stepped out of my beloved school and entered college hardly knowing that my exotic college life will give a tough competition to my wonderful school life, for being counted in the best days of my life! I still wonder how the date in the calendar has changed from
July, 2006 to April, 2010.
These four years have seen a lot of things. It has been witness to the "golden days " of my life.
I myself am clueless on how badly am I gonna miss these days. the days which have truly been amazing, with amazing friends. Ah...... FRIENDS!!!!!! I am extremely lucky to have found great friends . Each one them being a GEM. Dunno if I will ever be able to find such simple, loving and caring hearts, such beauty of character, such a perfect combination of intelligence and foolishness... where will I find such true friends who have touched my heart and soul.
Where will I find such firm, determined, stupid and funny idiots with whom I can chat for hours long and with whom I can comfortably sit in silence for hours, people who have taken up different roles of being a friend, a teacher, a mentor, a guide,a co-worker, a great companion, and at times a philosopher too, people who have always been there for me, whose shoulders have been wet with my tears and with whom I have always had a hearty laugh and laughed till my stomach ached. Friends with whom I have shared the darkest of my secrets
( yes I do have dark secrets! :P) and even the lightest of the moments. Friends who have been supportive and encouraging whenever I felt low and friends who have smiled with me in the sunshine and have acted as pillars when the cold winds blew.

Hats off to all you people out there who have smilingly tolerated all my tantrums and my continuous nagging . Friends who call me and send text messages in spite of being right infront of me, just because I complained no one calls me, friends who log on to facebook simultaneously with three browsers on the same laptop, friends who gtalk with me on two different windows on the same machine , just because I am bugged. Friends who have never had a wholesum chewing gum in the last 4 years, because there has always been 2 chewing gums with 3 mouths to feed.
I will miss you people every time I have a chewing gum, may be I wont like to have a wholesum of it anymore.

Where will I find a place where 5 people try and fit in, on a 6 by 3 bed at different angles inventing new geometrical shapes, just to watch a movie together, or even just to have a chit chat session. A place where most interesting and involving topics ranging from family, friends, social life, latest trends and styles to politics, philosophy and terrorism crop up just before few hours of the examination and people happily spend those important hours intensely discussing these. Times when people share their gyan on serious issues of life like CSCG and some real cool fundas of life...Did you know... HORLICKS is the cure of all illness ans sickness, Deodorant can be used as an insecticide... numerous use of the talcum powder...and the coolest of all which applies to me perfectly " Go Home" and all your problems will vanish into thin air.
P.S : the last funda is applicable only to the localites who can go home any day, anytime.

The moments inside the four walls of the hostel are unforgettable, be it the crowd that comes into my room to get ready and dress for fests and parties we have, be it during the exams, be it completing assignments, lab journals, files, when almost the whole department flows into a single room and bully each other. And not to forget the pre project presentation period when we have both the beds joined together, books all around, minimum 2 laptops in use and the 3 of us trying to improve the status of our project.

Memorable and cherishable are the times when we have the entire lobby echoing with "CSE 2K6" every now and then.. no matter what the reason is.. fest, placement, birthday, any news of exam getting postponed, classes being cancelled ,classes being held and...do we actually need a reason for making the lobby lively??? CSE truly is... neighbour's envy and owner's pride!!!!!!!!
Life has been rocking in the last 4 years.. it has been something that can be called "That's life".
Life has never been this way ever before and will probably never be like this ever in the future.
Life has dearly awarded me with fantastic friends and treasurable memories which form my priced possessions.

I would like to thank GOOGLE to which I will owe my degree.
Gtalk , without which life would have been really tough. Gtalk has helped connecting people, nourishing friendship..old and new. And.. ofcourse my dear friends.. who have made each and every day an adventure in itself and without whom life would not have been such fun, without whom , I would not have been who I am. I LOVE YOU ALL!!!

At this point of time, I wonder.... Why must life continually move forward?? WHY doesn't life has a rewind button?? WHERE???????? Where is the reverse gear?

Nothing like it....

I am back!!! Whether you like it or not...but I am back after a pretty long break. And am back because of my summer vacation which seems to be infinitely long , leaving me busy doing nothing....nothing at all! And when I have nothing to do.. I remember about my MIRROR of thoughts, so here I am.

With me doing nothing more than nothing...and the temperature rising each day ,I was going nuts but thanks to monsoon which has though late but finally hit Ranchi and came to my rescue lowering the mercury level . I being an opportunist(at least I claim to be one) took the utmost advantage of the beautiful weather , the weather which bathed in the gold of the sun after a cool shower from the sky.The exotic breeze blowing and making the trees dance to the tune of any of your favourite number and the sweet aroma of the earth was enough to brighten me up with even a brighter idea of exploiting the wondrous nature with its beauty at its peak.
My idea of taking advantage of the lovely nature with romance in its air, was to go on a drive. In short.... it was just perfect for me to go on a drive with none other than my mom .

Though I have been driving from a long time, but this was the first occasion I was going with my mom on a drive , not on my scooty but in my car with me being on the driving seat. Before this day I have always drove with some expert driver sitting next to me..say my dad...my bro..my bhaiya...and lot many times making the driver sit next to me while I would gladly jump on to the driving seat. So it was all together a different and extraordinary experience for me and of course my mom who was very tensed in heart of her hearts but seemed to be calm composed and bold..yeah..bold...sitting next to an amateur driver who also happens to be her daughter isn't easy you see....

Yippeeeeee!!!! I crossed my first hurdle and probably the biggest one, I was able to get the car out of my garage in one shot, now that was an achievement for me and really calls for a treat , excuse me...not to you all who are reading this but to all those who had been sitting next to the driving seat and guiding me while I was learning. This gave a boost to my confidence and I drove all the way long nicely and safely...I am a safe driver..I mean people say so but I also confess am not a perfect driver yet, hence am cautious enough while driving. I was thoroughly enjoying it. It was phenomenal,it gave me the same pleasure as anyone of you would get driving a limousine or BMW(though am happy with my 800..that is what I am allowed to drive as of now), but it couldn't last long...my happiness was short lived ,all the credit for it goes to the male chauvinist who form a major part of drivers on the road..huh!!!! Dunno what their problem is. I bet more than half of them don't know the traffic rules... forget following those.
But I was on a high and I managed to satisfy my ego just by giving back a sharp look , at least am better than lot many who drive rash and recklessly and think the roads to be their property. . Just anybody and everybody cant moisten my spirits. So I was happy again and took great pleasure in driving all the way. I drove just wherever i wished to, with no specified destination. It was pure fun.....driving anywhere you feel like...sometimes a left turn seemed more exciting while sometimes a right turn did.Driving aimlessly, just for the sake of fun and enjoyment is fantastic. Finally I drove back home with my mom, the car and me all in one piece
( in descending order of priority).

I simply love driving and there is nothing like it.
All together the experience was exciting and thrilling, and to top it, I got a pat on my back by my mom. This acted as the feather on the cap and I was overwhelmed. I may not be a great driver
( as of now) .... but I am proud of being what I am.

A Salute To The Pillars Of Our Nation

It has been 59 long years since India became a republic and since then we have been celebrating 26 January as Republic Day. Let me remind you- my friend, celebrating republic day isnt just about hoisting the tricolor and watching the pillars of our nation march proudly down the Rajpath or observing the scintillating show of air power or facinating tableaux depicting the diverse culture and exult over the fact of being a republican and feel proud of our

"UNITY IN DIVERSITY",

while sipping instant coffee in an armchair ; rather, Republic Day is a solemn reminder of those who attained martyrdom while defending the sovereignity of our country.Republic Day reminds us of the fulfillment of the pledge that was made on the midnight of Independence as a “tryst with destiny”. It is an acceptance of responsibilty and fullfilment of promises.

Seldom do we get time from running in the rat race, to think of the great soldiers and about the highest order of sacrifices they make just to ensure we live in peace. They work day in and day out for our safety without expecting anything in return. But , cant we even shed a tear expressing our gratitiude to the martyrs who were filled with extraordinary courage . Do we ever think before having a meal that someone , somewhere is sacrificing so much for us ?????

Our soldiers could perhaps have made a lot of money as an engineer , a doctor or a businessman one day, but what they really wanted was to be a soldier, a profession that would pay them a pittance and send them to treacherous terrain to face the enemy and make them soldiers who have to sit in the bunkers in the scorching heat for so long and face the freezing winter without much ado. I feel for the soldiers who don't see their families for months on ends. They, who miss their son's first step, they who yearn to listen to their little angel, babble her first word. They, who have left young brides home, they who have left and gone to guard their motherland's frontier without a backward glance.Do people pause and think of the boy, who adorns a medal at the school Sports Day, whose eyes will forever scan the spectators for the only face he wants to see and will never ever see him there again?

Lets feel for our soldiers and give a couple of minutes to think about them. We just cant back off only by giving a grand applause to them and thier mother, father, brother or wife with tears, who are present on the dias to recieve the Ashok Chakra ,the highest award for valour in peacetime from a grateful nation. We must feel the hardships , pain and agony they go through. After all we are human beings with feelings, emotions and red hot blood pumping in our hearts and veins. Let those feelings, show and flaunt that we are human beings. Raise your hand to salute the brave soldiers who have shown enomorous amount of courage , bravery and altruism and recognize their courage and valor not just with speeches and solemn ceremonies, but with feelings right from the bottom of your heart.

I take this oppurtunity to thank all the soldiers who are the heart throb of our nation and pay tribute to those who sacrificed their life for the safety and welfare of the country; and because of whom today I can live, eat, sleep, dream and blog in peace!!!

I will always remain indebted to you , and I owe you a lot "My dear soldiers" and with hand on my heart I salute you.

DRAVID - An Impregnable Wall

At last....... Dravid is back and he is back with a bang!!!!

The WALL is ROCK SOLID and STRONG as ever.

The world class batsman has bounced back with the most awaited century, and once again it has been proved that form is temporary but the class is permanent .

After a long time ,the most prolific number 3 batsman test cricket has ever seen, had a big knock of 136 runs under his belt .

Being a hard core RAHUL DRAVID fan( you can call me his AC too) it was a treat watching him bat , and I received my Christmas Gift 5 days in advance from none other than 'My Hero'. I can bet I couldn't have got anything better than a century flown out of Dravid's bat as my Christmas gift.

He was successful in not only getting a good score but also in bringing back smiles to millions of his fans who had and will always have faith in him.

Its Christmas time and hence am back home for my vacation and so are my school friends.

And like every time we had a get together at my paradise...daz my sweet home for me.

So with all of us on a high..chattering and blabbering , I suddenly remembered about the India-England test match which was going on , and after a lot of controversies over switching on the television(no..... it isn't an idiot box when it comes to matches....) I managed to tune into NEO sports with the score board flashing IND 45/1 , that means...... Dravid on crease. With Dravid in bad form for the last few innings, and me being the ONLY RD supporter in the group, I had to hear the expert comments about Dravid who was still struggling to settle down and put a decent score, from the experts sitting next to me. Huh....!! I would sigh...and said "just wait and watch.... my Rahul gonna score and score big", and with these words of mine came the first boundary from the outstanding Rahul Dravid. Slowly and gradually( haule haule...) the terrific player was set....and soon was placing the ball with perfect timing . With the match going on we were busy clicking pics , and suddenly I heard "SWETA!!!...Gambhir got 3 runs"...and I was like.....what..????? and then he says-"thanks to dravid....achha bhaga...nhi bhagta toh how would Gauty get those runs..?" but then Dravid dint let me down.... his willow spoke for me! After all he's a Test player...not a T-20 player who would smash every ball, ....immaculate block and stylish leaves with an arty flourish are his trademark yet he has the record of the fastest 9000 runs in test cricket, and this is what test match demands....but few people do not agree.....and these few people also include my dear friends who seem to have turned anti Dravid and hence turning themselves into my enemies for the time being.

Nevertheless, the out of form batsman was back in rhythm with runs coming with ease. The match embarked the RETURN OF THE WALL........

After all RAHUL DRAVID is RAHUL DRAVID , Dravid who is impregnable, dependable, reliable, is a world class batsman and above all he is my heart throb....!!!

The mantra - " Take a Chill Pill "

Hmmm............... so here i am after a pretty long break. I am again back home for a month after facing the dreadful examination . Though examination period is never thought to be good...but this time it was horrendous and purely hapless . I am not as euphoric as I used to be post exams, but rather I have mixed feelings and there is hell lot of reasons for it.

Ofcourse I am greatly releived for the fact that exams have finally come to an end and I have about 3 months before I flip to the pages of the book, but.... I am not really overwhelmed to be back home ( I know this is gonna be a shock for people who know me.... and for people who dont....umm.....forget it!!). I seem to have lost interest in everything; even my favourite delicacies, movies, music, books have betrayed me at this juncture. Hey....hellooo......NO....am not in love..... but this ungratified attitude of mine is a reflection to the horrifying examination papers .

Computer Science........... which is mostly referred to as the coolest(taking into account the pre recession period) and often envied by most of us owing to the fact that CSE people need not have to study. Very true...they need not have to study because even burning the midnight oil would not have yielded anything benefitial to them as far as this end sem was concerned. The question papers were completely mindblowing and out of the world, as a glance at the question paper would ruin you of your mind (if you have had any left by that time...thanks to the examination department for scheduling our exams back to back) and absolutely out of the world because there seem to be no similarity between the course structure, the content of the book and not to forget the lectures which we attend .Let it be FDC.............SOC......or FLAT...... ( these are our super cool branch subjects) none of which posed to be an exception.

Every one of us must have heard.. "All is fair in love and war" but as far as BIT Mesra is concerned, there is a BIT modification..."All is fair in examination and results". So its useless thinking how could they do it.....how could they be so unrelenting... because it will only result in dismay.

After pouring down all these I feel a lot better. Afterall such is life dearies....one has to keep going...be optimistic and hope for the best .The more you rub the diamond the more it shines and in this case the more you are screwed the better you will be, so my mantra for tackling such situation is ---"Take A Chill Pill"
